About Bario
Bario is located at a remote plateau in the Kelabit Highlands on the island of Borneo, in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. It is surrounded by densely forested highlands, some rising to as high as 2,400m above sea level. The highland ?includes Sarawak's highest peak, the Mount Murud.
Bario is about 1,000 meters above sea level and provides an isolated and perfect destination for eco-tourism and for experiencing the hospitality and culture of the Kelabit people.? The climate is neither excessively hot nor humid, which adds greatly to the experience, especially for rainforest trekking. ?The temperature in Bario ranges between 16°C and 25°C.
Although it is in isolation, it has basic infrastructure such as airport, clinic, shops, telecentre (for internet access), schools and churches. Bario is truly a place of natural beauty where nature lovers can trek primary rainforests with breathtaking sceneries
